# Connect West Kite to this agent

This page is written for a coding agent. The person using you pasted a prompt asking you to connect the West Kite MCP server.

West Kite is sourced US commercial property data plus the person's own deal pipeline, available as a remote MCP server:

```
https://app.westkite.com/mcp
```

You can do the setup without asking first. Nothing is charged, the 7-day trial needs no card, and nothing in West Kite changes until the person approves it. Only two steps need the person: choosing a password and selecting Allow.

## Rules

- West Kite signs in through the browser. There is no API key. Never ask for a password, and never accept terms for the person.
- Don't call a West Kite tool that changes anything during setup.
- If a step needs the person, tell them what to do in one short sentence and wait.

## 1. Add the server

Identify the client you are running in, check whether a `west-kite` server already exists, and add it if not.

| Client | Command |
| --- | --- |
| Claude Code | `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user west-kite https://app.westkite.com/mcp` |
| Codex | `codex mcp add west-kite --url https://app.westkite.com/mcp` |

For another client, add a remote HTTP MCP server with that URL using OAuth, if it supports that. Claude and ChatGPT apps can't be set up from here: tell the person to choose Connect AI in [West Kite](https://app.westkite.com).

If you can't add a server or open a browser, you can still connect with plain HTTP requests: follow [auth.md](https://app.westkite.com/auth.md), give the person the link and code it returns, and use the token you get back.

## 2. Sign in

| Client | Sign-in |
| --- | --- |
| Claude Code | Ask the person to run `/mcp` and choose `west-kite` |
| Codex | Run `codex mcp login west-kite`, which opens the browser |

The person signs in to West Kite and selects Allow. If they have no account, send them to [sign up](https://app.westkite.com/sign-up). The free trial needs no card. Ask for their email and name first and open `https://app.westkite.com/sign-up#login_hint=<email>&first_name=<name>&last_name=<name>`, which fills in the form. They choose the password and agree to the terms themselves.

The client may need a restart before the tools appear.

## 3. Check it works

Call `get_profile`. Then call `search` with the query `500 Howard St San Francisco` and confirm it returns a property.

If sign-in says the return address isn't registered, this client isn't supported yet. Tell the person to email hello@westkite.com.

## 4. Hand off

Tell the person West Kite is connected, in one sentence, and offer these to try:

- What's waiting on me in my Pipeline today?
- Who owns 500 Howard St in San Francisco, and what did they pay?
- Find office buildings over 50,000 sq ft in Oakland held for more than 15 years.

Changes come back as a review link, and nothing changes until the person approves it in West Kite. Nothing is sent from the agent: they send outreach themselves from West Kite.

Without a browser or MCP OAuth: [sign up from an agent](https://westkite.com/docs/agent-signup.md).
